PALS Autism Society, Adult Program provides support and services to young adults aged 19-28. The program operates 5 days per week from 9:00 am-4:00 pm. We offer a skills development program that focuses on developing individual goals and abilities. These areas may include the following components:
- Employment Readiness Training and On-site Job Coaching
- Social Skills Training
- Functional Academics (numeracy and literacy)
- Adaptive Living Skills
- Volunteer Opportunities
- Community Participation
- Social and Recreational Activities
The focus of this program is to develop those skills that lead to employment, in all its diverse interpretations, greater independence both at home and in the community and the teaching of those social skills that are key to success in all the areas outlined above. The program actively seeks consultation with autism experts who are skilled in working with young adults and understand the specific challenges and opportunities that this age group presents.
PALS Adult Program is a CLBC Qualified Service Provider and Host Agency. We are currently accepting applications on to our wait list. The fee for this program is based on available individual funding and we accept referrals from Community Living BC or private contracts. Interested applicants are asked to complete the Adult Program Intake Application and mail it to 101-2020 Yukon Street, Vancouver, BC, V5Y 3N8, Attention: Head of Adult Program.
